ELAALRL3 The student deepens understanding of literary works by relating them to their contemporary context or historical background, as well as to works from other time periods.

This is saying that we should be able to understand what we are reading and relate it to out past, present, and future. Not only does it relates to those three things, but also to Literature such as, poems and moveis.

The link above is telling a story about a little boy who hates to be at home so he goes to the mountains early in the morning and doesn't come home until night. He tells his parents that there is more to eat in the mountains and they wouldn't hav eto work hard for it. But, if they do want to come to the mountains with him, they will have to fast for seven days.

In the native american culture is so different from todays. The Puritans ways was like EVERYTHING you do reflects if you to go hell or not."There is nothing between you and hell but air". It was all just crazy to me. My Native American example really doesn't have any religious stuff going on back then. they just live by nature itself. the little boys culture was different from the puritans. they lived off of natural things. he said, "It is better there than here, and you see I am beginning to be different already, so that I can not live here any longer. If you will come with me, there is plenty for all of us and you will never have to work for it; but if you want to come, you must first fast seven days."

Perseverance:steady persistence in a course of action, a purpose, a state, etc., esp. in spite of difficulties, obstacles, or discouragement.
Evidence: proof
Wrath:retributory punishment for an offense or a crime
Deism:is a religious and philosophical belief that a supreme being created the universe, and that this (and religious truth in general) can be determined using reason and observation of the natural world alone, without a need for either faith or organized religion.
Unalienable rights: rights which are not contingent upon the laws, customs, or beliefs of a particular society or polity

Rationalist are the smarter. They use their head to figure out things and make decisions based on theory.what they are reall y sying is that they dont need a god, prayer or anything else to help them through their problems. Puritans.....they think that everything happens because of the mood that God is in. They can't do one thing without the works of praying to god to help them.

Benjamin Fankilin was a good example of rationlist because they believed in sceinece and he believed in science also.Aslo the rationalist believed that god didnt make everything ,so did benjamin. So this far,it seems that he's very common to an rationalist.
